About Us
Buy It Direct is one of the UK's leading online retailers, built from the ground up to become one of the UK's largest and fastest-growing online businesses. Operating award-winning brands like Laptops Direct, Appliances Direct, and Furniture123, we keep all our stock in vast distribution centres before shipping. Here at Buy It Direct, we don’t follow the normal ways of working. We think unconventionally. We are looking for ingenuity, tenacity, and people who want to get stuck into the real work from day one.
About the Role
We have a fantastic, high-impact opportunity for a commercially minded Lean Six Sigma Specialist to join our operations team. As our operations continue to grow, we are looking for an expert to evaluate, streamline, and revolutionize our warehouse workflows, delivery driver processes, and overarching operational framework. This role is designed to serve as the bridge between operational data and on-the-ground execution. You will be responsible for identifying inefficiencies and implementing robust solutions to keep our business running to the high standards our customers desire.
What you’ll be doing:
- Conducting end-to-end reviews of our warehouse and delivery operations utilising Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Identifying bottlenecks, reducing waste, and mapping out efficiency improvements within our distribution centres and final-mile delivery networks.
- Designing and implementing unconventional, highly effective solutions to improve pick-and-pack speeds, reduce delivery lead times, and optimise fleet performance.
- Working closely with our operatives, warehouse managers, and technical colleagues to embed a culture of continuous improvement across the floor.
- Tracking, measuring, and reporting on the commercial impact of implemented changes against key operational KPIs.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in a Continuous Improvement, Process Improvement, or Operations Excellence role, ideally within a fast-paced e-commerce, warehousing, or logistics environment.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt minimum, Black Belt highly desirable).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn complex operational data into actionable, high-impact strategies.
- A tenacious, hands-on approach - someone who is just as comfortable analysing spreadsheets as they are walking the warehouse floor.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and empower stakeholders at all levels of the business.
Benefits:
- Up to £50,000 basic salary (dependent on experience)
- Healthcare cash plan
- Your birthday off after a year of service
- Generous staff discount scheme across all our brands
- Free onsite parking
