Join Buy It Direct as a Team Leader at our EMDC distribution centre. As part of the delivery team, this hands-on role involves managing night operations and supporting your team with the safe loading and unloading of vehicles, ensuring all loads are correct and secure. You’ll also play a key role in driving high-quality service and operational excellence across the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a fast-paced night operation, ensuring HGVs are unloaded, and stock is safely and accurately loaded onto delivery vans.
- Drive on-time, in-full (OTIF) performance, ensuring all vehicles are ready for departure for the morning delivery shift.
- Provide hands-on leadership on the warehouse floor, supporting loading and unloading activities and maintaining high safety standards.
- Lead, coach, and motivate your team to deliver operational standards.
- Manage re-deliveries and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Carry out return-to-work assessments and absence reviews.
- Work closely with HR to ensure compliance, supporting investigations, PDPs, and disciplinary processes.
- Oversee holidays, staffing levels, inductions, and training.
- Manage timesheets, liaise with agency partners, and ensure SOPs are followed and kept up to date.
