We are looking for an experienced Radiographer to join our friendly multi‑professional radiotherapy team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. We deliver a range of treatment techniques including Lung and Bone SABR and actively engage in both commercial and non‑commercial research trials. You will be an enthusiastic Radiographer with significant experience in pre‑treatment activities including CT, 4DCT, cannulation, contrast delivery and palliative virtual simulation. You will join when SGRT is newly installed on both linacs and in CT, and when we upgrade Mosaiq and implement a new Devon‑wide EPR system.
Main Duties
- Provide an efficient, effective and timely pre‑treatment service in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Produce accurate and timely radiotherapy planning CT datasets for a range of body sites, including use of 4DCT and contrast.
- Perform palliative radiotherapy pre‑treatment calculations and data entry.
- Liaise with treatment radiographers to solve complex treatment set‑ups, and help produce guidance for IGRT when required.
- Maintain professional development portfolio and support team members.
- Contribute to maintaining radiotherapy BSI accreditation and ensure all patients receive an outstanding quality service.
Person Specification
- DCR(T) or BSc (Hons) Therapy Radiography, completion of preceptorship period or appropriate prior experience at band 5.
- HCPC registered.
- Specialist knowledge across a range of treatment and pre‑treatment activities.
- Excellent communication, empathy, sensitivity and reassurance for patients and carers.
- IT competent.
- Good organisational and time‑management skills.
- Knowledge and ability to ensure compliance with quality systems and ISO9001:2015.
- Significant experience working in pre‑treatment.
- Flexible shift work capability.
- Actively involved in education of undergraduate students.
Desirable:
- Audit training.
- Master’s level education in CT or other technical subject.
- Practice Educator.
- Experience with Cannon CT scanner, SGRT, EPIC EPR, Pinnacle TPS.
- Cannulation and contrast delivery trained.
