This is a pivotal role within the Trust's finance department, where you will have an opportunity to shape the core transactional functionality of financial and procurement systems as well as influence the financial strategic direction of the Trust. You will be required to have an office presence although some hybrid working is feasible.
You will have a varied portfolio of responsibilities to ensure that the department continues to develop its financial applications that serve both the traditional NHS secondary care functions as well as those that deliver Adult Social Care to residents of Torbay. In addition to ongoing financial systems development you will be responsible for the following:
- The development of a rolling 5-year capital programme.
- Financially managing a capital budget of circa £40m to £50m per annum.
- Full Treasury Management across the Trust, including identifying and obtaining appropriate sources of finance.
- Full responsibility for the Trust's statutory financial reporting obligations including that of the Trust's subsidiary company.
- Responsibility for the financial management of contracts placed with Independent Adult Social Care providers, along with Court of Protection financial management and direct payments being made to Adult Social Care clients.
- Supporting the Charitable Fund section.
The Trust has an innovative approach to the delivery of care, namely responsible for both secondary healthcare for the residents of South Devon together with responsibility for the delivery of Adult Social Care for the residents of Torbay. This is not typical and therefore the successful post holder will have the opportunity to gain exposure to both functions.
There are plans to implement a new electronic patient record application that will transform the way in care is delivered across Devon. This investment being made is a significant statement of support to enable the Trust to continue to improve healthcare and to deliver first class care for our patients.
The finance department has a reputation of being open, continually learns and is responsive to the organisations needs and the department supports CPD. We would like you to be part of this team.
