The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.

Templer Ward is a 30 bedded in patient ward within Newton Abbot community Hospital. 20 beds provide care to specialist stroke and neuro rehabilitation patients following treatment in an acute hospital setting. The other 10 beds are for patients requiring general medical care and rehabilitation.

Joining our team on a permanent full time contract, you will be working within a proactive multidisciplinary team to encourage patients to reach the maximum rehabilitation potential to enable safe discharge from hospital.

We are looking for a caring and compassionate person who is able to work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a high standard of individualised nursing care to our patients.

You will need excellent communication skills, and be able to work independently, prioritising your workload to ensure the best outcomes for patients.

You will ensure that your own actions support the care, protection and well-being of individuals, and ensure their privacy and dignity at all times.

You will need to be flexible as this is a rotational post which includes days, nights and weekend working.

We work in an integrated way with allied health care professionals within the locality, and are a motivated and caring team to both patients and colleagues.

The Post Holder Will Be Expected To

  • Work as a member of the team
  • Planning and Organisation
  • Recognising and responding to situations within the work area and report to the nurse in charge
  • Undertake direct patient care, in support of, and under the delegation of the Registered Nurse, and document care given as required
  • Assist with last offices and care of relatives/carers
