Purpose of this role

The Project Administrator will provide essential administrative and coordination support to the Strategic Projects PMO, ensuring the smooth delivery of strategic projects and programmes. This role is critical in maintaining governance standards, supporting project managers, and reducing the administrative burden on business project owners.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers and business project owners with day‑to‑day project administration.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, risk logs, issue registers, and change requests.
  • Support the PMO in ensuring compliance with governance frameworks and project methodologies.
  • Collate and update project status reports, dashboards, and KPIs for senior stakeholders.
  • Help monitor project budgets, resource allocation, and timesheets.
  • Act as a central point of contact for project‑related queries.
  • Coordinate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and project events.
  • Maintain PMO project management tools.
  • Ensure data integrity and timely updates in project tracking systems.

Qualifications

  • A-Levels or Equivalent.

Experience / Knowledge

  • Previous experience working in an administration role in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in preparing reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Abilities / Skills

  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear stakeholder engagement.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint).
  • High level of accuracy in maintaining documentation and data integrity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and build positive relationships.
  • Proactive and willing to learn.

Desirable

  • Degree.
  • Experience in project administration or coordination within a PMO or similar environment.
  • Experience supporting governance processes and reporting for projects or programmes.
  • Understanding of resource and financial tracking within projects.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills to support decision-making.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or portfolio management systems).
