Purpose of this role
To support the Design Manager (which may include line management)in the delivery of Design Approved construction packs for each project and provide technical support for sales and tendering activity. This is a customer facing design, management and leadership role and the objective is that by implementing and monitoring Power On practices and processes as well as providing customer satisfaction, the role will help support and grow the business.
Your key responsibilities are
May include Line Management and Performance Management of own team where applicable/necessary to meet businesses needs
Accountable to Design Manager for Quality, customer service and technical resolution
Ensuring planning and design work is in accordance with customer and business requirements and meets overall company objectives
Leadership of design team members to deliver high quality design approved engineering solutions and support tendering activities for the business
Effective planning and utilisation of staff to meet overall company objectives
Ensuring the design work by team and self is in accordance with Customer and Business requirements
Be creative in finding solutions to resource / schedule problems to maintain project delivery programme and escalate to the appropriate person
Promotion of zero harm culture and adherence to all HSEQ compliance issues and supporting the project Health and Safety Plan
Maintain awareness of HSEQ policies and procedures and ensure the Office is maintained as a safe place to work.
Ensure Safety by Design through a Design Risk Assessment Process
Leads and supports on incumbent and key Customer Interfaces
Ability to recognise gaps in competencies, be it technical or soft skills
Represents Company at external meetings
Any other duties as required by the manager
Qualifications
Degree in engineering.
Experience/Knowledge
Knowledge of current Legislation, Technical Standards, Codes of Practice and Engineering.
Recommendations.
Abilities/Skills
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Desirable
Masters degree, CEng or Ieng.
Multi Utility knowledge.
BMT experience.
Conditions of EmploymentYou will hold a driving licence.
