Power On, part of the BUUK Infrastructure Group, are looking for a Network Operations Engineer who would like to help us reach our mission to earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service.

Purpose of this role

Working as an integral member of the Power On Connections Delivery team, reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be responsible for enabling the successful achievement of Power On Connections objective to complete at least 50% of all connections to the DNO network as Self Connect.

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Responsible and Accountable for all network operational interfaces with the DNOs in relation to Self-Connect Operational Activities.
  • Support Regional teams by completing commissioning testing as required by the adopting network operators and POC procedures.
  • Work with the Regional Manager and Senior Construction Engineer to help develop nominated personnel to enhance their operational capability.
  • Ensure the Self Connection to the DNO network is undertaken safely and in accordance with DNO and POC/GTC requirements.
  • Ensure subcontract services and direct labour deliver projects safely and establish supply strategies to maximise value across all projects.
  • Be responsible for the growth and development of all nominated Self Connect Operational personnel assigned to the region.
  • Act as a change agent, supporting change initiatives whilst driving towards a desired organisational culture and supporting values.
  • Champion initiatives across the region, gaining acceptance from key stakeholders, challenging inappropriate behaviour and coaching team members as required.

Qualifications

  • Appropriate H&S qualifications.
  • Formal Electrical qualifications.

Experience/Knowledge

  • Significant experience and/or qualifications as well as having a working knowledge of current Legislation, Technical Standards & Specifications, Codes of Practice and Recommendations relating to the Electric Distribution Systems.
  • Experience operating on 11kV networks either as an SAP or SAP in training holding AP status to enable switching under supervision in line with the CIC COP Option 3/4.
  • Application of best practice within a project environment.
  • Experience of coaching staff, performance management, learning, employee relations/engagement.
  • Facilitating teams to achieve defined outcomes.
  • Experience of implementing company initiatives across a business area.

Abilities/Skills

  • Ability to develop & mentor others to ensure they have the opportunity for maximum learning during their involvement in the planning, preparation and execution of Self-Connect Operational Activities.
