We are looking for a Learning & Development Trainer who would like to help us reach our mission to earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service. This is a part-time role of 32 hours a week and is on a fixed term basis for up to 1 year.

Purpose of this role: To identify, design, and deliver impactful learning and development solutions that build organisational capability, enhance performance and support business objectives. To foster a modern, progressive learning culture by providing engaging learning experiences that empower colleagues to develop their skills and succeed in their roles.

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Work with managers, teams and employee groups to understand skills gaps and define learning needs that can be met through internal learning solutions.
  • Design and develop engaging learning programmes using different methods (workshops, online learning, group coaching, blended approaches) to ensure the learning delivered is practical and relevant.
  • Support managers and leaders by shaping requests into effective internal solutions and advising on how best to develop their teams.
  • Facilitate training sessions (virtual and in person) in an engaging way across a range of topics, including interpersonal, business, HR and management skills, that support behaviour change and skill development.
  • Review and update existing learning materials and programmes to keep them relevant and effective.
  • Evaluate learning solutions using a range of measures to continuously improve our learning and development provision.
  • Support the creation and curation of digital learning resources and pathways using learning technologies and external content libraries.
  • Work with the wider L&D team to ensure external learning and development is aligned with our internal development solutions.
  • Support the development and implementation of our early careers pathways to enable employees to build skills and progress within BUUK.
  • Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Group Talent and Development Manager.

Qualifications: CIPD Level 5 in HR/L&D or equivalent experience.

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Experience of working within a HR environment, or in a role that has a sound understanding of people management practices.
  • Knowledge of learning principles and how to design practical learning experiences.
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality and engaging learning sessions in both classroom and virtual learning environments to a range of audiences.

Abilities/Skills:

  • Ability to build positive working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to organise and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent facilitation and presenting skills to a range of audiences.
  • Ability to interpret learning needs and support the development of internal learning solutions.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable using digital systems and learning platforms to support learning delivery.

Desirable:

  • Certificate in Education and Training.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems.
  • Experience supporting or implementing coaching and mentoring initiatives.
  • Understanding of blended learning design.
  • Experience designing and delivering management and leadership programmes.
  • Ability to evaluate learning impact using feedback, behavioural change or performance measures.
