Purpose of this role

Support the Group Fleet Manager in all aspects of fleet compliance.

Your key responsibilities are

  • Ensure all vehicles are compliant.
  • Ensure all drivers are compliant and records are up to date.
  • Ensure all vehicle checking and recording, and defects/actions are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure tachograph management is in line with drivers hours requirements and Working Time Directive, and accurately recorded.
  • Ensure all MOTs are booked a minimum of four weeks in advance.
  • Ensure all vehicle services are booked a minimum of four weeks in advance.
  • Ensure all vehicles have RFLs purchased before the previous one expires.
  • Ensure vehicles currently off road are monitored and returned to the road as efficiently as possible.
  • As part of our commitment to ensure the safety of our engineers, we visit sites quarterly, to meet the drivers and check their vans.
  • There is a requirement for Transport Compliance Support to visit other UK locations as and when required to monitor and review these ongoing activities.
  • Keep informed/up to date regarding pending industry changes, trends and best practices.
  • Support the wider transport team within BUUK.
  • Any other duties as required by the manager.

Qualifications

  • Operators Licence Awareness Training, Level 2 Maths and English qualifications.

Experience/Knowledge

  • Highly organised with a well-developed approach to prioritisation.
  • Proficiency in Excel.

Abilities/Skills

  • Capable of working to and consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Financial Understanding.

Desirable

  • Transport Manager CPC.
  • Previous experience of high-volume transport operations and delivering a safety first culture.
  • Experience in DVSA/DVLA compliance.
  • Fleet maintenance experience.
  • Good level of health and safety knowledge.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programmes or equivalent.
