We are looking for Project Manager - Strategic Projects who would like to help us reach our mission to earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service.

Purpose of this role

The Projects Manager Strategic Projects will lead and manage a portfolio of strategic projects within the Strategic Projects PMO across three complexity tiers, with their portfolio consisting of a mix of:

  • High Complexity Projects: Full end-to-end project management responsibility. Own planning, delivery, governance, and benefits tracking. Direct engagement with sponsors and business leads for critical decisions.
  • Medium Complexity Projects: Act as a delivery partner to the business lead. Provide structured support: planning, RAID management, governance packs, and coaching. Ensure adherence to programme standards and escalate risks/issues.
  • Low Complexity Projects: Primarily focused on visibility and reporting for the Senior management team. Maintain status dashboards, track milestones, and flag exceptions.

Your key responsibilities are

  • Manage a portfolio of strategic projects and ensure delivery against scope, time, and budget.
  • Support business leaders in developing programme roadmaps, milestones, and success measures.
  • Provide governance frameworks, tools, and methodologies to enable effective programme delivery.
  • Monitor progress against objectives, escalating risks, dependencies, and issues to accountable leaders.
  • Produce high-quality reports and dashboards for senior leadership, enabling data-driven decisions.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication across the business, ensuring stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, helping them navigate complexity and manage change effectively.
  • Ensure lessons learned are captured and shared, embedding continuous improvement into future initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Business Degree or equivalent.

Experience/Knowledge

  • Advanced project management and planning across multiple complexity tiers.
  • Demonstrated success in enabling senior leaders to deliver through structured governance and coordination.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams, fostering accountability without direct ownership of outcomes.
  • Understanding business case development and benefits tracking.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, governance, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of change management and stakeholder engagement practices.
