This is a fixed term contract for up to 15 months.

Purpose of this role:

  • To support the production of statutory financial statements, monthly management accounts and quarterly reporting to shareholders;
  • Co-ordination of external audit;
  • Assist with the preparation of annual corporation tax returns;
  • To operate and enhance financial reporting processes and controls;
  • Ad-hoc projects as required.

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Assist in the production of consolidated monthly and quarterly financial reporting in respect of:
    • Monthly management accounts to management,
    • Quarterly financial reporting to support shareholder interim reporting requirements,
    • Ad hoc reporting to management and other stakeholders as required.
  • Assist in the timely completion of monthly financial close processes.
  • Support the delivery of insight and analysis regarding key areas of business performance.
  • Assist with the production of statutory financial statements prepared under FRS 102 & IFRS.
  • Management of the external audit process liaising directly with auditors and helping to co-ordinate an efficient audit process across finance.
  • Technical review and application of relevant financial reporting standards.
  • Support and coach other members of the team.
  • Assist with producing annual corporation tax returns.
  • Support the completion of quarterly tax estimates, including analysis of tax sensitive expenditure.
  • Assist in developing and enhancing processes and controls that are appropriately documented and adhered to in full compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements whilst meeting business needs.
  • Support internal audit in their review of processes and controls.
  • Identify and implement process improvements across finance.
  • Any other duties as required by the manager.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA).

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge.
  • Experience of consolidations and producing or auditing statutory financial statements under FRS 102 and IFRS.
  • An understanding of core corporation tax principles.

Abilities/Skills:

  • Organised with strong task management skills.
  • Takes initiative to identify areas of improvement and offer solutions.
  • Highly numerate and able to work with accuracy.
  • Strong communicator with the ability and confidence to work with individuals across all levels of the business and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyse and appropriately challenge information presented.

Desirable:

  • Accounting experience gained in practice.
