- Gas Team Leader Grade 4
- Purpose of this role
Installation of Gas Infrastructure (On and Off‑Site Works). Taking responsibility for a Team.
- Your key responsibilities
- Always work safely wearing relevant PPE that is supplied.
- Install and commission gas infrastructure as instructed, ensuring that all work is undertaken to a high standard of safety and technical quality by following all appropriate generic and specific method statements, work procedures and safety instructions.
- Accept delivery of plant and materials and check fitness for purpose prior to use.
- Ensure vehicles, plant and equipment remain in good condition, and report any defects to the Project Manager.
- Identify at an early stage all contract variations and report to the Project Manager and work in accordance with the company Variation and Deviations Procedure.
- Complete site‑specific risk assessments daily and ensure maintenance of a safe working environment.
- Act as a Competent Person for ROs and NROs (if assessed as competent).
- Attend Toolbox Talks and other training courses as required.
- Record accurately details of work undertaken.
- Submit relevant work details for recording and invoicing in the required timescale.
- Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Project Manager that fall within the general experience scope of the individual.
Qualifications
- GN02 for Main Laying / Service Laying (or equivalent).
- NRSWA certificate for operatives.
- Gas Network Safety Passport (SHEA).
Experience / Knowledge
- Working in Public Highways.
- Identify and understand Utility Plans.
- Abilities / Skills
- Full UK driving license and driving experience.
- Operating Pneumatic equipment.
- Using Mechanical Excavators up to 10T.
- GNO 2 ELR.
- Gas Safe Registration.
- CCN1 - Domestic Core Gas Safety.
- MET1 - Domestic Gas Meters.
- REGT1 - Domestic MP Regulator.
- Relevant training in underground safety and confined space.
- Use of camera techniques in live gas mains and services.
- Conditions of Employment
- Criminal records check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) is required.
- Participation in a standby rota is required.
- Holding a driving licence is required.
