This is a part-time position (3 days per week) working as part of a finance team of two, supporting the Management Accountant in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative studio environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Processing purchase invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely entry into the accounting system
- Assisting with sales invoicing, including preparation and distribution to clients
- Supporting credit control activities, including monitoring outstanding debts and following up on payments
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
- Performing bank reconciliations and assisting with cash flow monitoring
- Supporting month-end processes, including journals and accruals
- Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems
- Assisting with expense processing and staff reimbursements
- Assisting with processing and reconciling the company credit card
- Liaising & supporting the Studio team with their purchasing
- Providing general administrative support to the finance function as required
About you:
- Has previous experience in a finance or accounts assistant role
- Has strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Is proficient in accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- A good communicator who takes a professional approach
- Has the ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- An organised, reliable individual who is able to manage workload effectively within a part-time schedule
- Experience working within a professional services or architectural practice
- Familiarity with project-based accounting or time recording systems
- AAT qualified or studying (or equivalent experience) preferred
