Are You Ready to Build Something That Matters?

Not every role lets you shape a service from day one. This one does. We’re on the lookout for an experienced, passionate Registered Manager to join a brand-new children’s residential care venture at its very beginning. Backed by a well-established organisation with years of sector expertise, this is your chance to combine the excitement of a start-up with the reassurance of strong foundations. You won’t be walking into “just another home” — you’ll be creating one. This 3-bed home will support children aged 8–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), providing the stability, care, and encouragement they need to thrive. Your leadership will set the tone, culture, and standards from the outset.

A Role With Flexibility (Yes, Really)

We know great Registered Managers don’t just appear overnight — and many are already in roles they care about. So, we’ve designed two flexible ways to get involved:

  • Option 1: Pre-Registration Support (Part-Time / Remote)
  • Option 2: Full-Time Registered Manager (Post-Registration)

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the home in line with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 & Quality Standards
  • Driving and completing the Ofsted registration process
  • Building a safe, nurturing, and high-quality environment
  • Recruiting, developing, and inspiring your team
  • Creating meaningful care plans that deliver real outcomes
  • Managing budgets, operations, and compliance (without losing sight of the children)
  • Building strong partnerships with professionals, families, and authorities
  • Leading quality assurance, including Reg 44 & 45 reporting
  • Being part of the on-call rota (because leadership doesn’t clock out at 5pm)

What You’ll Need

  • 2+ years’ experience as a Registered or Deputy Manager in children’s residential care
  • Level 5 Diploma (or willingness to complete —fully funded for you)
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted, regulations, and quality standards
  • Confidence to pass the Ofsted “fit person” interview
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Leadership skills that people actually want to follow
  • A genuine commitment to safeguarding and making a difference

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience with EBD
  • Experience opening a new home or going through registration
  • A track record of Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings
  • Knowledge of therapeutic approaches (PACE, DDP, trauma-informed care)
  • Budget and resource management experience

What you will get:

  • Great Holiday Allowance
  • Bonuses which are guaranteed
  • Ongoing training and support from the Directors & Responsible Individual.
  • Company Pension
  • Owners come from this field so understand what you need to support you.

Why This Role Matters

This isn’t just about compliance, occupancy, or inspections (though you’ll smash those too). It’s about creating a home where children feel safe, valued, and understood — sometimes for the first time in their lives. If you’re the kind of leader who balances high standards with a big heart, and you like the idea of building something meaningful from the ground up… we should talk.
