Fancy building something brilliant from the ground up? We’re looking for a passionate, motivated and slightly fabulous Service Manager to launch and lead a brand-new Care at Home service in Aberdeen. This isn’t a case of walking into someone else’s well-worn shoes. This is your opportunity to build something of your own. You’ll have the freedom to shape the service, develop the culture, grow your own team and make your mark from day one.
We’re looking for someone who knows what great care looks like, loves bringing people together and has the energy, ambition and leadership skills to turn a new service into something truly special. You’ll lead the operational delivery of high-quality, person-centred care, while driving sustainable growth and making sure quality, safety and wellbeing never get lost along the way. And yes, there will be spreadsheets, policies and compliance.
What will you be doing?
- Launch and lead our brand-new Care at Home service in Aberdeen.
- Build and grow your own team, recruiting, developing and inspiring the people around you.
- Create a positive, values-led culture where people want to work and people receiving care feel valued.
- Oversee the safe, consistent and person-centred delivery of care.
- Develop strong relationships with people receiving support, families, colleagues and external partners.
- Drive referrals, capacity and delivered hours — growing the service without compromising quality or safety.
- Lead on quality assurance, audits, care planning, risk management and continuous improvement.
- Manage budgets and resources with a sensible head and a commercial eye.
- Identify training, development and recruitment needs as the service grows.
- Support complaints, investigations and those inevitable days when everything decides to happen at once!
- Ensure compliance with legislation, regulation and the Health & Social Care Standards.
- Produce reports, contribute to strategic planning and represent the service at external meetings.
- Participate in an on-call rota as required.
What are we looking for?
- Leadership experience, ambition and a genuine passion for care.
- A relevant qualification such as Social Work, Nursing or SVQ Level 4 Health & Social Care, alongside experience within Care at Home or a community setting.
- A confident, compassionate and inspiring leader.
- Someone who can build a team and a culture, not just fill a rota.
- Organised, proactive and brilliant at solving problems.
- Comfortable managing budgets, growth and change.
- Knowledgeable about care legislation, regulation and standards.
- A natural relationship-builder with excellent communication skills.
- Resilient, positive and able to keep smiling when the day throws you a curveball.
- Someone who genuinely believes great care starts with great people.
- A full UK driving licence holder.
- PVG/Disclosure Scotland check required.
This is more than a management job. It’s a chance to build a service, build a team and build something you can be genuinely proud of. If you’ve got the ambition to grow, the heart to lead and just enough stubbornness to keep going when things get tricky — we’d love to hear from you. Click Apply and send us your CV.
