Volunteer Receptionist – Butterwick Hospice

If you are looking to do something amazing with your spare time - volunteer with us! Our reception volunteers are often the first point of contact with the Hospice and it is important that we provide a warm welcome to all our patients, families and visitors.

Days/Hours

We are looking for an additional volunteer to cover our main reception duties on an adhoc/cover basis Monday to Friday (shifts are 9am - 1pm and 1pm to 5pm) and/or another to cover Monday, Wednesday and Friday's at our 7 Wellbeing building adjacent to the main site (shift 10am-2pm.)

Tasks will include:

  • Welcoming visitors to the hospice site.
  • Directing callers to waiting area.
  • Advising staff of visitors.
  • Answering the telephone, transferring calls.
  • Taking messages and passing on to specified person.
  • Helping with other administration tasks as and when required.

Expectations

No experience is required, some admin/secretarial experience would be great, but we will welcome anyone who is professional, reliable, friendly, and can respect the confidentiality of the information they are handling. In order to meet our Safeguarding obligations, we will help you to obtain a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and to complete our on-line training modules as necessary for the role.
