Supporting the manufacturing & fulfillment facility here at Rudie’s Kitchen in order to ensure that stock movements around the whole site run smoothly, and working with some of the best people in the area, this is a great time to join Butternut Box. In return for your tail-wagging dedication, we offer a competitive wage of £12.84 per hour plus a shift premium of 20% (£15.41 per hour) base salary is £27,468, with 20% (£32,961)
A bit about the role
- Work in a safe way following all appropriate safety procedures and wearing protective equipment correctly at all times
- Operate mechanical handling equipment: reach truck, counterbalance and ride-on forklift trucks (Our chillers and freezers are 10m fully racked warehouses)
- Conduct quality checks ensuring that we meet product specifications.
- Stock count and systems transactions
- General facility hygiene – floors, walls and conveyors etc and working in a manner that epitomises ‘clean as you go’
- Other general tasks waste processing, order packing etc
- Work to relevant standards and Key Performance Indicators
- Occasional attendance and contribution at daily review meeting and regular attendance/contribution at warehouse performance reviews
This role will may include the opportunity to upskill and combine Forklift Operations with Shunting duties, upskilling of the nature will be via a selection criteria after probation completion.
When shunting the driver will be responsible for the safe movement of vehicles and Trailers at Rudies Kitchen, Aces Pantry and the conjoing public road.This could include large goods vehicles (LGVs) or trailer units, and can involve manoeuvring goods around site, into storage or loading bays, or to be picked up by other external companies.

Located in Doncaster, Rudie\’s Kitchen is where our Butternut meals (we currently have 12 recipes) will be gently cooked, using human-quality ingredients. Rudie\’s is also where we will be packaging our meals and boxing them for our customers all over the UK. We are a close nit team, with a that family feel, looking to welcome more like minded people to our lovely team and keep work life fun and enjoyable.
We are pleased to say, this is a full-time permanent contract, you will be working a rolling average of 41 hours per week working on a shift rotation with a mixture of days / nights and some weekend working. The working shifts days consisting of 7am to 7pm and nights consisting of 7pm-7am.
Such as:
- 4 on/ 4 off = 2 day, 2 nights
- 5 on, 5 off = 3 days, 2 nights
- 5 on, 5 off = 2 days, 3 nights
A bit about you
- Previous experience with Reach Truck and Counterbalance, PPT or LLOPare essential
- Confident in the use of warehouse IT equipment
- Comfortable working in temperatures as low as -40 degrees and outside yard work (changing weather conditions)
- Able to be adaptable to an ever changing work environment with varied roles and responsibilities that can differ day to day
- Working level of speaking English
- Ability to read English
- Numerate (able to understand and work with numbers)
- Comfortable working in a chilled environment
- Comfortable working in an environment that processes raw protein
