Join the paw-some team at Rudie\βs Kitchen, part of Butternut Box, where we cook up tails of success and wagging tails. We are looking for hard-working dog lovers (and animals) to join our manufacturing team in Blyth, Doncaster. We offer a competitive wage with shift premium and a base salary depending on hours worked.
We might call this role a Machine Operator, Machine Technician, or Manufacturing Technician, but at Butternut we call it a Skilled Operator. A bit about us: For Butternut, our mission is to deliver health and happiness to dogs and their humans all over the world. We need a hardworking team and a big kitchen to achieve this.
Located in Blyth, Doncaster (off the A1(M) / A614 Hill Top Roundabout, Blyth S81 8HG), Rudie\\\βs Kitchen will be where our meals are gently cooked using human-quality ingredients, packaged, and shipped to customers across the UK. We are a close-knit team with a family feel and are excited to welcome more like-minded people.
A full-time permanent contract with a rolling average of 41 hours per week on a shift rotation (days and nights with some weekend work). Day shifts are 7am to 7pm and nights 7pm to 7am.
Typical patterns include 4 on, 4 off (2 days, 2 nights), and 5 on, 5 off (3 days, 2 nights or 2 days, 3 nights).
Responsibilities
- Work in a safe way following all appropriate safety procedures and wear protective equipment correctly at all times
- Drive line performance and diagnose operational issues on the lines
- Conduct quality checks to meet product specifications
- Perform machine/equipment hygiene and changeovers
- Prepare ingredients for production and mix recipes
- Operate production line equipment to the agreed settings
- Carry out general tasks such as waste processing and order packing
- Work to relevant standards and Key Performance Indicators
- Attend daily review meetings and participate in online performance reviews
- Maintain general facility hygiene and a clean-as-you-go approach
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous machine operative experience in a food manufacturing environment is desirable
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty and high-speed machinery
- Excellent knowledge of safety methods and hazard regulations
- Working English (speaking and reading)
- Numerate and able to work with numbers
- Comfortable working in a chilled environment
- Comfortable working with raw proteins (lamb, pork, turkey, chicken)
