You will be the operational heartbeat of our supply chain systems, reporting into the Demand Manager and working cross-functionally with every system user across our UK sites (Rudie’s Kitchen and Ace’s Pantry) and our newly launched site in Poland (Sam’s Kitchen, live as of January this year). This is a key role sitting at the intersection of supply chain, finance, warehouse, fulfilment and production. You will be the Ultimate Owner of site SAP utilisation, tasked with "chasing the numbers" through the system to ensure our digital data perfectly mirrors our physical reality. You’ll balance immediate troubleshooting with long-term strategic projects to optimise our processes as we scale. Your north star is a matching systematic movement for every physical movement in our Operation.

We are looking for a proactive, system-savvy specialist who views SAP as a tool for excellence rather than just a database. You understand that a missed transaction isn’t just a data error, it’s a ripple effect that impacts our P&L and our ability to deliver great service to our customers.

In this role, you can expect to…

  • Be the owner of Inventory & Transaction Integrity: Lead on the audit of transactions across our warehouse, fulfilment and production operations in both Kitchens, ensuring accurate systematic transactions occur for all stages of the physical process.
  • Own the reporting of systematic compliance: Engage with stakeholders of all levels to continue to elevate the importance of this topic.
  • Play a key role in Master Data control: Manage SKU information, BOM information or Location information centrally for effective management.
  • Drive up & maintain high levels of compliance: Highlight areas of improvement across the operation where compliance is below target or trending in the wrong direction.
  • Reduce friction of system use: Review and iterate our systematic processes to either reduce friction of usage and compliance, or improve controls to remove discrepancies.
  • Engage stakeholders and manage change: Ensure successful completion and full embedding of changes within day-to-day operations.
  • Explore new technologies: Work with our SAP Engineering Team and software suppliers to implement and roll out new functionalities successfully.
  • People leadership: Lead your team’s performance in a supportive and developmental manner, ensuring a high level of team engagement across both sites.

How you work (Behaviours):

  • Adaptability: Comfortable juggling priorities across Production, Warehouse, and Fulfilment.
  • Analytical: Able to jump into the detail of the data to understand where the gaps are, what they mean and how to close them.
  • Self-Starter & Problem Solver: Take ownership without waiting for instruction.
  • Collaboration: A cross-functional bridge-builder who can translate technical SAP requirements for stakeholders of all backgrounds.
  • Leader & Coach: Aim to help others succeed.
  • Mission Alignment: A genuine passion for the Butternut mission—delivering health and happiness to dogs.

A bit about Butternut: At Butternut, the mission is to deliver health and happiness to dogs and their humans all over the world. In order to do just that, we need a team of forward-thinking, driven people who love dogs as much as we do. While Rudie’s Kitchen and Ace’s Pantry in Doncaster remain the heart of our UK operations, we’ve recently taken a massive leap forward with Sam’s Kitchen in Poland, going live in January this year. This expansion is a huge part of our story, allowing us to bring our gently cooked, human-quality meals to even more four-legged friends across Europe.

We believe dogs deserve better, and we wouldn't serve food to them that we wouldn't be happy to eat ourselves. Butternut has come a long way since Kev & Dave (our co-founders) hand-delivered the first Butternut Box, and with our new international footprint, we are looking for brilliant people to join us for this next chapter.
