This is a full‑time permanent opportunity to join Butternut at an exciting time as we continue delivering health and happiness to dogs and their humans. The role supports the day‑to‑day running of our production operation. You’ll be part of a strong existing team, where hard work, teamwork and a positive attitude matter. The role works on a rolling average of 41.125 hours per week across a shift rotation including days, nights and some weekend working, with shifts of 6:45 am – 7 pm and 6:45 pm – 7 am.

  • Work safely at all times, following the appropriate safety procedures and wearing protective equipment correctly.
  • Carry out quality checks to make sure products meet the required specifications.
  • Support core operational tasks including unpacking, packing, loading and unloading boxes, finished goods and raw materials, as well as monitoring production lines.
  • Provide ‘machine watching’ cover for the Machine Operator when needed.
  • Complete general operational duties such as waste processing, order packing and other supporting tasks across the site.
  • Maintain high hygiene standards across the facility, including floors, walls and conveyors, while working in a clean‑as‑you‑go manner and contributing to relevant standards, KPIs and performance review meetings where required.

  • You can learn new tasks quickly, follow instructions carefully and take a practical approach to getting the job done.

  • You are comfortable working with raw materials including beef, pork, chicken, turkey and lamb, and happy working in a chilled environment.
