A bit about the role.

We\’re looking to hire an established Senior Designer to join our talented in-house studio, reporting to the Head of Creative (Labs).

First and foremost you\’ll be a highly conceptual designer, able to lead projects from ideation to execution. You\’ll be able to work independently on design projects, but often you\’ll team up and collaborate with our Senior Copywriter to deliver big, attention grabbing creative solutions across multiple channels. We have big ambitions for the Butternut brand in both the UK and Europe, as we look to create fame-making campaigns, a distinctive global visual identity and a world full of healthy, happy dogs (and their humans).

If you\’re someone who thrives on building iconic brands in a fast-paced environment, and who has a genuine love of dogs we want to hear from you

What you\’ll do:

  • You\’ll think conceptually, and be able to translate a brand story across a full 360 campaign.
  • Lead projects from ideation stage to execution.
  • Balance design craft with creative thinking.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide junior members of the team, providing constructive feedback and leading by example.
  • Effectively manage and prioritise multiple design projects simultaneously.
  • Support art direction, casting, styling, and post-production for brand photoshoots.
  • Commission and brief external contractors including designers, photographers, videographers, or motion designers when needed.
  • Be a brand guardian, ensuring high-quality, consistent creative output across all touchpoints

A bit about you.

Requirements

  • Highly proficient in graphic design platforms and tools, with expert knowledge of Adobe Suite.
  • Able to prioritise and manage time effectively to consistently meet deadlines, while maintaining a keen eye for detail and willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment and always bring fresh ideas to the table.
  • You are a confident communicator, capable of motivating and influencing your colleagues with positive, passionate energy.
  • Comfortable with responsibility and accountability, both in your creative work and project management.
  • Passion for design, consumer trends, brands and creative communication in all its its varied forms.

Desirable

  • Film and photography knowledge and interest. Our small in-house studio regularly shoot for our owned channels, so having the interest, vision (and practical skills) to plan, film, and direct best-in-class content is a huge plus.
  • 3D, Blender, Firefly, video editing and motion graphics skills. This is an increasingly important part of our brand, and an area you could really lead on.

Our interview process:

  • Application review
  • Initial call (45 minutes): Introductory chat with our Recruiter.
  • Technical interview (45 minutes): Remote interview where you\’ll be asked a number of scenario and competency based questions.
  • Final interviews (60 minutes) : In person interviews in our office in White City where we will want to understand how your values align with our business values.

Logistics:

  • This team works 3 days per week from our West London office (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) and 2 days from home. This is non negotiable, so please only apply if you\’re within a reasonable commute of London.
  • We reserve the right to close the position if we receive a lot of applications.We\’re a small recruitment team so do bear with us – we aim to respond to all applicants personally.
  • We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
  • We are not looking for recruitment agency support for this role.
