We have a track record of delivering high quality training programmes to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and healthcare support staff with high achievement rates.
Due to continued success and expansion, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced education professional to join the Commercial Team as a Programme Development Manager.
This is a senior role within the department to oversee the development of healthcare training products within Buttercups Training, including short online courses through to apprenticeship programmes and post-registration training.

What you’ll be doing
The Programme Development Manager is key to ensuring our programmes are expertly designed, enabling learners to develop secure and deep knowledge and skills which prepare them for work and future learning.
As such, you will be responsible for:
- Lead on innovative curriculum design, development and implementation for delivery with a focus on asynchronous and blended learning. Manage multiple projects on time and to budget, ensuring resources and pipeline across all projects
- Refine processes and ways of working across Buttercups and the wider BPP group to ensure programmes are developed cost-effectively
- Line management of the products team responsible for the creation and maintenance of course products. Embed standardised ways of working aligned to product processes
- Manage the lifecycle of the existing programme range, from development to retirement
- Achieve and maintain accreditation of courses where required
- Work with other teams to optimise the operational delivery of courses, supporting standardisation and quality driven activities and projects as required
- Analyse course performance and stakeholder feedback, providing appropriate reports with recommendations where relevant
- Provide input into bespoke training, contract and tender proposals for new and existing programmes
- Support the strategic review of the healthcare market to identify possible opportunities for development of new programmes, creating a business case for any proposals
- Work collaboratively with relevant internal and external stakeholders relating to programmes including the wider BPP Education Group
- Stay up to date with current teaching / learning trends and best practice
- Provide representation as the curriculum lead on the Quality Committee.
What we’re looking for
To be successful in this role you will need to have a proven track record in the following areas:
- A minimum of five years’ post-registration experience
- Knowledge and prior experience of working in a training organisation, HEI or learning and development role
- Able to demonstrate a solid understanding of current healthcare education standards and curricula used in the sector
- Understanding of assessment and quality assurance methodologies
- Awareness and understanding of OFSTED Education Inspection framework would be advantageous
- Experience of working collaboratively with commissioners to delivery training programmes
- Experience of working across teams to take new products to ‘go live’
- Can evidence experience of incorporating contemporary technologies to enhance teaching and learning
- An ability to influence and motivate both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work on multiple projects/tasks at one time and in-line with SLA’s
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
