Butter & Crust is a fast-growth weekend breakfast subscription. We deliver freshly baked bread, pastries and breakfast products to customers’ doorsteps before 9am every weekend. We’ve hit £2m ARR, with 3,000+ active subscribers, strong customer love and delivery across London Zones 2 & 3. Now we’re hiring a hands-on Managing Director to help scale the business to the next stage. The main priority is clear: drive profitable e-commerce growth.
You’ll take over day-to-day running of the business from Ollie, our founder, and lead the team across growth, marketing, ops and customer experience. You’ll own the numbers, improve the machine, and help us scale without breaking what customers love.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Scaling the business to £5m ARR
- Improving our CAC:LTV and driving profitable customer acquisition
- Increasing LTV through better retention, AOV, and customer experience
- Knowing the weekly numbers: revenue, CAC, churn, AOV, margin and profit
- Managing our relationship with our suppliers
- Building better dashboards, workflows, automations and internal tools
- Managing the ops and customer service teams so quality stays high as we grow
- Leading big projects, including geographic expansion and moving into a new site
Ideal experience:
- E-commerce, subscription, DTC or marketplace growth
- Strong Meta ads / performance marketing background
- Strong grasp of CAC, LTV, churn, AOV and contribution margin
- Experience managing agencies, marketers, operators and customer service teams
- Strong people management: clear feedback, high standards, good energy
- A bias towards action, testing and continuous improvement
- AI-native: using Claude, ChatGPT or similar every day to move faster and work smarter
Bonus points for:
- Coding/vibe-coding experience
- Experience with Airtable, Zapier, Make, n8n or similar
- Strong Meta ads / performance marketing background
- A genuine love of sourdough and pastries
The Package:
- Salary: Up to £75,000 DoE
- Equity: 2.5% equity stake in the company
