The role of a resort Carpet and Flooring fitter is to install and repair various floor coverings across the resort in residential and commercial areas, ensuring areas are measured correctly, prepared correctly, old material disposed of appropriately, and new materials are laid ensuring a professional finish with attention to detail and safety.

General Duties & Key Accountabilities

  • Accurately measure and estimate materials required to complete tasks.
  • Ensure area is prepared, remove old materials, clean, level and repair sub floors.
  • Lay underlay where required, cut, stretch and secure flooring using grippers, adhesives, tacks.
  • All material laid is in line with Brand Standards.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all tasks are carried out ensuring H&S requirements are met, including but not limited to use of PPE, ensuring machinery is handled appropriately and manual handling requirements are adhered to.
  • Risk assessments are reviewed and adhered to.
  • Regular safety inspections are carried out.
  • Support incident response when required.

Operational Support

  • Support operational teams with repair needs for day-to-day tasks in residential areas, commercial areas and events, entertainment and seasonal attractions as required.
  • Ensure tools, materials and parts are available and stock levels maintained.
  • Ensure all items used adhere to Brand standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider maintenance and facilities team.
  • Ensure minimal disruption to guests and operations when completing works.
  • Undertake any reasonable duties as directed by the Butlins leadership team.

Guest & Team Experience

  • Work in a professional and guest-focused manner when operating in public areas.
  • Provide advice and support to resort departments.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all work areas.

Experience & Qualification Requirements

  • NVQ level 2 in floorcovering occupations (Construction).
  • NVQ level 3 in Floorcovering (desirable).
  • NICF registered (desirable).
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and operational demands.
