To maintain, repair and ensure the safe operation of all Funfair rides and equipment across the resort. The Funfair technician supports the delivery of a safe, compliant and high-quality environment for guests and team members by carrying out maintenance across the Funfair and back-of-house operations.
General Duties & Key Accountabilities
- Funfair Maintenance & Repairs
- Conducts daily pre-opening and closing safety checks and routine inspections of rides, vehicles, restraints and safety components, detecting wear and damage to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform troubleshooting when required, day to day maintenance tasks, and basic repairs including oiling parts, replacing worn components and basic assembly/disassembly.
- Ensure minimal disruption to guests and operations when completing works.
- Safety & Compliance
- Maintain detailed and accurate records and documentation of all maintenance and repair work performed including but not limited to inspection reports and safety certification information.
- Follow safe systems of work, risk assessments and permit-to-work procedures.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and support incident response when required.
- Operational Support
- Support operational ride operators to ensure proper functioning and provide basic technical support during operations.
- Assist with fairground and leisure electrical systems where required.
- Liaise with contractors and oversee works carried out by third parties.
- Ensure tools, materials and parts are available and stock levels maintained.
- Work collaboratively with the wider maintenance and facilities team.
- Guest & Team Experience
- Work in a professional and guest-focused manner when operating in public areas.
- Provide technical advice and support to resort departments.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all work areas and plant rooms.
Experience & Qualification Requirements
- Knowledge of electrical systems within hospitality, leisure or similar environments (desirable).
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours and operational demands.
