We’re looking for a Junior Kitchen Manager to join the Butlin’s Buffets Department based in Skegness. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you will support the running of the kitchen and step in as Kitchen Manager in absence. You will be passionate about exceptional experience and will monitor this regularly to develop action plans with a focus on continuous improvement. You will handle stock controlling, review presentation of food, conduct daily briefings, support financial performance, deliver food cost budgets, cook to standards, maintain hygiene and health & safety, ensure training schedules, and inspire the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support kitchen operations and lead a large team of chefs.
- Regularly monitor guest experience and develop action plans for improvement.
- Conduct daily briefings and stock control.
- Review presentation of food and ensure quality standards.
- Deliver food cost budgets and manage margins.
- Maintain food hygiene standards and health & safety compliance.
- Implement training schedules and performance development plans.
- Lead and develop the team in a high‑volume buffet environment serving up to 3,000 guests per service.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
- Experience in a similar role with large volume turnaround.
- Strong leadership skills, working well in a fast‑paced environment.
- Good time‑management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends; 5‑day working week over 7‑day month covering 40 hours.
- Must be over 18 years old.
