About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate leader to join us at our Skegness Resort as part of the leadership team in our Buffets department. The Back of House Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all kitchen operations, overseeing cleanliness, safety, and organisation across our catering services.
This role is critical in supporting the culinary team, ensuring that all kitchen, dishwashing areas, and food preparation areas are safe, clean, and functional, handling up to covers daily across our kitchens. The role reports directly to the Buffets Senior Manager.
You’ll be vital in keeping our kitchens safe and secure by getting involved behind the scenes to give the team a great experience. You’ll be part of a large team responsible for providing our guests with a fun and entertaining holiday, working collaboratively with front of house managers and lead chefs to address operational issues.
You should enjoy developing people and be passionate about delivering exceptional experiences by nurturing, training, and coaching the team in a fun-filled environment. You will drive standards and lead the team to excellence, incorporating all brand standards and Butlin’s way of working.
You should enjoy a busy environment and will drive your team to maintain high levels of hygiene and cleanliness. You’ll have the ability to uphold consistent brand standards while being guest-obsessed and operating efficiently. The role also involves analyzing KPIs and stock control systems, adhering to food safety and health & safety policies.
You will conduct regular audits of all kitchen and FOH areas within the buffets department, liaising with relevant leaders for compliance with all food and safety policies. You should have a passion for leading by example and inspiring others to deliver delightful guest experiences. You should be an advocate for your team’s development, holding regular \’s and PDP discussions.
As with all roles at Butlin’s, no day will be the same. You will need to enjoy thinking on your feet, getting involved, and prioritizing guest experience as your top priority.
About You
We are looking for someone with prior leadership experience in a volume-led back of house and/or kitchen environment, committed to consistent delivery. You should have a hands-on management style and be passionate about leading and developing a team through regular coaching.
You should focus on detail and prioritize to maximize positive impact. Delivering an amazing guest experience is key, so you should be passionate about every interaction and seek opportunities for improvement.
Having Level 3 Food Hygiene certification and a forklift license is desirable but not essential.
Typical working hours are 40 hours per week, with shifts between 7am – 9pm, ensuring appropriate management coverage. You may also deputize for the Senior Buffets Manager when needed.
