School Site Manager required to start urgently.
Site manager will be needed to start asap with a view to providing temporary cover until end of August.
This is a full time position.
Working times are Monday to Friday 7:30am-5pm (an extended lunch break up to 2 hours is acceptable).
You will be required to open up the school in the mornings and lock up at the end of the day.
Job Purpose
The School Site Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, security, and health and safety of the school premises.
The role ensures that the school provides a safe, clean, secure, and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff, visitors, and contractors.
Responsibilities
- Premises Management
- Ensure the school buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard.
- Carry out regular inspections of the premises to identify maintenance needs.
- Undertake minor repairs and maintenance work where appropriate.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors carrying out repairs and maintenance.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with school policies.
- Health and Safety
- Maintain a safe environment in compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Carry out routine health and safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Monitor fire safety systems, emergency lighting, alarms, and fire extinguishers.
- Ensure statutory compliance checks are completed and records maintained.
- Report hazards promptly and implement corrective actions.
- Security
- Open and close the school buildings as required.
- Ensure the security of the premises, including locking/unlocking buildings and gates.
- Respond to alarm activations and emergency call-outs when necessary.
- Monitor CCTV and access control systems where applicable.
- Cleaning and Grounds Maintenance
- Oversee the cleanliness of the school site.
- Manage or supervise cleaning staff where required.
- Ensure external areas, pathways, and playgrounds are safe and well maintained.
- Arrange seasonal maintenance such as gritting, snow clearance, and leaf removal.
