In this role, you will conduct conflict searches using internal systems and third-party databases, analyse results for potential issues, and communicate findings to firm leadership and any other relevant parties. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that supports critical firm operations and values accuracy, professionalism, and service. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your conflicts expertise while working closely with attorneys and leadership in a fast-paced legal environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct conflict of interest searches for attorneys and administrative staff using internal systems and external research databases.
- Enter, review, analyse, and maintain conflict and new matter data in accordance with firm policies and procedures.
- Review workflow requests including detailed understanding of the submissions to ensure key information is included for appropriate processing.
- Research individual and corporate entities to identify relationships and potential conflicts.
- Review conflicts reports for accuracy and completeness, evaluate potential issues, and clear conflicts when appropriate.
- Escalate unresolved or significant issues and follow up with attorneys and/or management as needed.
- Review and process new client and matter intake documentation prior to opening.
- Respond to conflict check inquiries and provide system and status support to firm personnel.
- Ensure timely processing of requests by coordinating with team members and meeting deadlines.
- Responsible for covering periodic after hours/weekend On Call shifts at the discretion of the General Counsel's Office.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of three years of conflicts experience in the legal industry preferred.
- JD is a plus.
