A well established organisation are looking for a permanent Shipping Controller to join their team in Epping. This position requires full on site presence and is offering a salary of up to £45,000.

Responsibilities

  • Documentation & Compliance: Prepare, verify, and manage shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, air waybills, and certificates of origin for import/export compliance.
  • Coordination: Book collections with freight forwarders, carriers, and courier partners while acting as a main point of contact for shipping inquiries.
  • Order Processing: Process orders, generate shipping labels, and update internal databases to reflect real-time status.
  • Customer Service: Address shipping delays, damages, or discrepancies with customers, Sales, or Customer Relationship teams.
  • Operational Support: Perform administrative tasks like invoice checking, inventory tracking, and updating master reporting sheets.

Person Specification

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and experience with ERP systems or warehouse management systems.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for liaising with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in verifying, documenting, and tracking goods.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of Incoterms, international shipping regulations, and dangerous goods handling.
  • Organisation: Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and handle multiple shipments simultaneously.
