I am currently working with a fantastic organisation based in Milton Keynes who are seeking to bring a Senior Buyer (Capex) on board. This role is offering a salary up to £60,000 with excellent progression opportunities.
Candidates who have experience as a procurement professional within the engineering or technical manufacturing background will be well suited for this role.
Role requirements of the Senior Buyer (Capex) include:
- Driving and ensuring suppliers are held accountable for meeting continuous improvement and productivity initiatives
- Negotiating new contracts from start to finish directly with suppliers
- Working with Engineering and Operations to identify and schedule procurement activities
- Implementing and managing procurement tendering activities, preparing tender documentation and participating in supplier and contractor negotiations
- Maintaining procurement program and progress report for all live projects and all relevant aspects to provide regular updates
- Working with Legal to identify which forms of contract to use for specific packages
Role specification of the Senior Buyer (Capex) includes:
- Minimum 4-5 years' experience as a Procurement professional
- Experience negotiating new contracts from start to finish directly with suppliers
- Ability to manage full tender process
- Experience in NEC specific contract & NEC sourcing
- Mobility & flexibility to travel across UK sites every week
This role requires regular travel, please see the work schedule below:
- Monday - Milton Keynes site
- Tuesday - Working from home
- Wednesday & Thursday - Onsite (potential overnight stay) at sites located in Cumbria, Barrow in Furness, Wakefield, Rotherham and London - all travel and hotels expensed
- Friday - Working from home
