Butler Ross are please to be supporting our client, a global leader in environmental solutions, in their urgent recruitment of a Site Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a waste management site. This is an exciting opportunity to take charge of a high-value operation (several million pounds in revenue), lead a dedicated team, and ensure the safe and efficient delivery of services to our customers.
This short-term contract role offers you the chance to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact across a range of functions including financial management, compliance, people development, and operational efficiency. We\\\βre looking for someone with a commercial mindset, strong leadership skills, and a solid understanding of fleet or waste operations. You\\\βll work closely with stakeholders to deliver results and implement innovative, sustainable solutions.
While this is initially a short term contract role, there\\\βs real potential for the position to become permanent for the right individual, depending on business needs and performance. The working arrangement for this role is on site, 5 days per week, with occasional travel to other sites or customer visits.
This position would be well suited to individuals with prior experience of operations / site operations management, especially those with strong team leadership capabilities, and additional experience including budget, risk, logistics, or fleet management
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day running of a waste management site, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of services.
- Lead a dedicated operations team, drive performance, and develop staff capabilities.
- Manage financial aspects of the operation, including budgeting and cost controls.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver results and implement sustainable solutions.
- Coordinate fleet, logistics, and other operational functions where applicable.
Qualifications / Experience
- Experience in operations or site operations management, with strong team leadership capabilities.
- Experience in budget management, risk management, logistics, or fleet management.
- Ability to work on-site 5 days per week and travel occasionally to other sites or customer locations.
Remuneration & Location
On-site role with 5 days per week, occasional travel. Competitive rate: Β£33.81 per hour / Β£270.48 per day (umbrella gross).
