A growing organisation is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join their team on a Part Time basis. The position is based in Chandlers Ford, with working hours of 9:30am-2:30pm, Monday to Thursday. The role offers an hourly rate of up to £16.50 per hour, equivalent to approximately £17,160 per annum.
Role responsibilities:
- Create and manage purchase orders.
- Source new and existing parts by obtaining quotations, comparing suppliers, and supporting NPI sourcing activities.
- Maintain accurate BOM, MRP, supplier, pricing and lead-time data to support procurement and production requirements.
- Monitor deliveries, shortages and supplier performance, expediting orders and identifying supply risks, obsolescence or long lead-time issues.
- Collaborate with procurement, engineering, production, stores and senior management to support materials planning, stock control and quality/traceability requirements.
Person Specification:
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling part numbers, BOMs and purchasing data.
- Confident communication skills with suppliers and internal teams.
- Comfortable working with Excel and MRP systems.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple orders and enquiries at the same time.
- Experience with electronics is a big desirable.
