A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Buyer to join a growing and innovative business based in Aldershot, Hampshire, offering a salary of up to £42,000.

Supporting the Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day purchasing function, managing the end-to-end procurement of finished goods. You will be responsible for supplier coordination, purchase order management, stock replenishment planning, alternative sourcing, and monitoring freight and landed costs to ensure products are delivered on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have previous buying or procurement experience within a product-based environment.

Role responsibilities of the Buyer include:
  • Manage the end-to-end purchase order process, ensuring orders are raised accurately, tracked through production and shipment, and completed on time while maintaining strong supplier communication.
  • Monitor stock levels and demand forecasts, identifying replenishment requirements, stock risks, and opportunities to support product availability and business performance.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, comparing costs, lead times, quality, service, and commercial terms to support informed purchasing decisions and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Coordinate freight and landed costs, obtaining quotations, monitoring shipping costs, and ensuring product cost data remains accurate and commercially competitive.
  • Support product quality and compliance, managing samples, supplier documentation, quality issues, claims and corrective actions to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data and reporting, providing clear updates to internal teams on supplier performance, stock risks, product launches, and purchasing activity while keeping ERP and project management systems up to date.
Person Specification of the Buyer:
  • Proven experience in a Buyer or Purchasing role within a product-based importing, wholesale, or distribution business.
  • Strong experience managing overseas suppliers (China and the Far East) and purchasing finished goods for stock.
  • Sound knowledge of stock forecasting, inventory management, and replenishment planning, with the ability to identify stock risks and opportunities.
  • Understanding of import, freight and shipping processes.
  • Strong analytical and systems skills, including ERP, Excel, and reporting, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a hands-on SME environment.

This position requires full on-site presence.
