A leading manufacturing company are looking for a permanent Strategic Buyer to join their team in Hatfield. This position offers 2 days a week working from home and a salary of up to £45,000.

This role is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for assigned suppliers, categories, and services. Candidate must have experience with procuring electronics to be successful in this position.

Role responsibilities of the Strategic Buyer include:

  • Develop and deliver strategic sourcing initiatives, leading supplier selection, competitive tenders, and commercial negotiations to achieve business objectives.
  • Build and manage supplier relationships, driving performance improvements in cost, quality, delivery, service and innovation through regular reviews and development plans.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving and value improvement opportunities using spend analysis, market intelligence, and supplier performance data to optimise commercial outcomes.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and product lifecycle management.
  • Manage supply chain risk and supplier performance, mitigating commercial and operational risks, resolving supplier issues, and ensuring continuity of supply.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement and maintain compliance.

  • Previous experience procuring electronics is essential.
  • Experience managing supplier performance and developing supplier relationships.
