Role responsibilities of the Technical Buyer include:

  • Manage supplier relationships and act as the main point of contact for purchasing and supply activities, ensuring clear communication of engineering and production requirements.
  • Ensure materials and components are ordered, delivered, and maintained at optimal inventory levels to support uninterrupted production schedules.
  • Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery, conducting regular reviews, negotiations, benchmarking, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Resolve supply chain and delivery issues proactively, coordinating with internal teams and suppliers to minimise impact on production.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and MRP system data, including order management, planning codes, and inventory controls.
