Butler Ross are pleased to be supporting our client, an innovative technical manufacturing organisation, with their recruitment of a proactive Buyer. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, ideal for someone looking to grow within a business that values self-improvement, collaboration, and long-term career growth and development. This opportunity is offering £33-38,000 depending on experience and will be fully office-based in Lymington.

Candidates will have previous experience within purchasing or procurement specifically within a manufacturing environment.

Role responsibilities of the Buyer include:
  • Raise and manage purchase orders using the ERP system to ensure the timely supply of materials for production.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, monitoring performance to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality and service standards.
  • Maintain accurate procurement data, monitor inventory levels, and support demand planning to optimise stock availability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Engineering, Warehouse and Planning to support business objectives and resolve supply issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by supporting procurement strategies, supplier performance reviews, and operational excellence across the purchasing function.
Person Specification of the Buyer:
  • Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement or Buyer role within a manufacturing (ideally mechanical) background.
  • Organised and results-driven, with experience using MRP/ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Confident in dealing with all levels of people in a professional manner.
  • Driven and motivated individual with a desire to progress.

This position requires full onsite presence with no hybrid working. This role will be well suited to you if you have held a role within purchasing or procurement as a buyer, sourcing specialist, commodity manager, category manager, senior buyer or supply chain planner.
