An established accountancy practice in Wisbech is seeking an experienced Audit and Accounts Senior to join its growing team.

The role offers a varied split between audit and general practice work, with approximately 40% focused on audit.

You will work across statutory accounts, corporate tax and VAT, while also taking responsibility for client relationships and supporting junior members of the team.

The role is predominantly office-based, although hybrid working is available, and offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a progressive role with a practice that has a strong history of promoting from within.

  • Role Responsibilities
  • Lead and complete statutory audits from planning through to completion.
  • Prepare company accounts and financial statements under UK GAAP or IFRS.
  • Prepare corporate tax computations and complete associated compliance work.
  • Deal with VAT matters and general accountancy requirements across a varied client portfolio.
  • Manage, supervise and review the work of junior team members and trainees.
  • Build strong client relationships and deal directly with client queries both in the office and on-site.
  • Support the wider practice team across a varied portfolio of accounts and audit assignments.
  • Personal Requirements
  • ACA or ACCA qualified or nearly qualified.
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory audit, accounts preparation, corporate tax and VAT.
  • Good understanding of auditing standards and financial reporting.
  • Previous experience managing or reviewing junior staff would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills are essential.
  • Experience with IRIS and My Workpapers would be advantageous but is not essential.
