Butler Rose, public practice is delighted to be supporting our client based in Walsall who's currently got an opportunity for an Accounts Senior to join their team.

  • Role Requirements
  • Preparation of

Accounts: Prepare financial statements for a range of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards (FRS 102/105) and other relevant legislation.

  • Taxation: Manage the preparation of corporation tax returns, VAT returns, personal tax returns, and other tax-related filings. Provide clients with tax planning and advice.
  • Client

Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing them with expert advice on accounting, tax, and business matters.

Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their queries are handled efficiently and professionally.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Supervise and support junior staff, reviewing their work and offering guidance and training.

Take an active role in the development of the team, helping them meet their personal and professional goals.

  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure clients are compliant with statutory filing requirements, including annual returns and filings to Companies House.

Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting and tax legislation and ensure clients are advised accordingly.

  • Manage Deadlines & Workflow: Manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively, ensuring that work is completed on time and to a high standard.

Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.

  • Personal Requirements
  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience), with a strong technical background in accounting and taxation.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within a public practice environment.
  • Sound knowledge of UK accounting standards (FRS 102/105) and tax legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Team player with the ability to lead and motivate junior staff.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
