Payroll Officer

Tiverton | Permanent | Β£30,000 + Excellent Benefits

We're working with a well-established organisation that is looking to appoint an experienced Payroll Officer to join its finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in delivering an accurate and efficient payroll and pensions service.

You'll be responsible for supporting the processing of payroll for over 700 employees across multiple monthly payrolls, while also administering workplace pension schemes and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing payroll accurately and on time across multiple payrolls.
  • Supporting payroll compliance and maintaining employee records.
  • Managing pension administration, including auto-enrolment, contributions and submissions.
  • Responding to payroll and pension-related queries from managers and employees.
  • Conducting payroll audits and maintaining payroll system data.
  • Assisting with payroll reporting, budgeting and ongoing payroll projects.

What we're looking for

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Previous high-volume payroll processing either in bureau or in-house.
  • Good understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills to explain Payroll to non-Payroll team members
  • Ability to build relationships across the business.
  • Good Excel skills & ability to pick new systems up quickly.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to and from Tiverton 3 days per week
