An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a well-established and purpose-driven organisation based in Somerset.
This is a broad and rewarding finance position offering the opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day financial management while also contributing to wider organisational strategy, financial planning and continuous improvement.
Working closely with the senior finance team, you will lead and support a small finance function, providing accurate financial information, commercial insight and guidance to colleagues across the organisation.
The Role
As Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the organisation has robust financial processes, effective controls and clear financial information to support decision-making.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting a small finance team, providing guidance and helping team members develop.
- Supporting managers with budgets, forecasts and financial planning.
- Preparing and interpreting financial information to provide meaningful insight to senior stakeholders.
- Supporting month-end and management reporting processes.
- Ensuring appropriate financial controls, compliance and reporting procedures are maintained.
- Supporting the organisation through the annual audit process.
- Working closely with operational and project teams to provide financial advice and support.
- Helping assess the financial implications of new projects and initiatives.
- Maintaining and improving financial systems and processes.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, controls and reporting.
- Promoting best practice across the wider organisation.
- Supporting the senior finance team with wider financial and strategic projects.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative and approachable personality.
Desirable
- A professional accountancy qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA, or significant equivalent experience.
- Experience within the charity, not-for-profit, public sector or another purpose-led organisation.
