THE ROLE
- Manage a varied portfolio of clients, preparing accounts and tax work while building strong client relationships and becoming a trusted adviser to owner-managed businesses with turnovers ranging from start-ups through to approximately £3 million or beyond.
- Preparing year-end statutory accounts.
- Preparing management accounts.
- Corporation tax computations and returns.
- Personal tax returns and self-assessment.
- VAT returns.
- Bookkeeping where required.
- Liaising directly with clients and HMRC.
- Responding to client queries and providing day-to-day accounting support.
- Managing your workload to ensure deadlines are consistently achieved.
ABOUT YOU
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
- The ability to prepare complete sets of draft accounts with minimal supervision.
- Good knowledge of corporation tax, management accounts, bookkeeping duties, personal tax and VAT.
- Strong experience using cloud accounting software, particularly Xero and QuickBooks.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build lasting client relationships.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to hit the ground running.
- Part Qualified, qualified or qualified by experience.
