Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting a well-established independent accountancy practice in their search for an experienced Audit & Accounts Senior to join their team.

Reporting directly to the Director, this is a hands-on role suited to an experienced practice professional who enjoys taking ownership of audit assignments from planning through to completion. Audit will make up approximately 75% of the role, with the remaining time spent supporting accounts and tax work across a varied portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion, preparing complete audit files and resolving technical issues independently.
  • Prepare and review company accounts, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns while managing your own client portfolio, deadlines, and WIP.
  • Liaise directly with clients and HMRC, responding to queries and maintaining excellent client relationships throughout engagements.
  • Support and train junior staff during audit assignments and work closely with outsourced teams where required.

Key Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, nearly qualified, or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
  • 5-10 years UK accountancy practice experience
  • Strong audit experience with the ability to complete audits from planning through to file completion independently
  • Excellent knowledge of UK auditing standards and audit regulations
  • Experience preparing company accounts, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns
  • Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
