Semi-Senior/ Senior AccountantSudbury£29,000 – £42,000
A well-established, client-focused chartered accountancy practice is looking for a Semi-Senior or Senior Accountant to play a key part in delivering core accounting, tax and audit services, plus support business planning and client advisory work.
Role Responsibilities
- Prepare and review accounts for a portfolio of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, charities and not-for-profits.
- Assist with statutory audits and ensure clients' compliance, offering insight into financial strengths and opportunities.
- Support business planning and advisory services, helping clients improve performance and profitability.
- Contribute to VAT, taxation, payroll, CIS administration services and self-assessment workloads.
- Help manage relationships with clients in sectors such as construction, leveraging effective financial and management systems.
- Use firm's technology stack to deliver efficient and accurate services.
- Mentor junior staff, helping to develop their technical and client-management capabilities.
Personal Requirements
- Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA) with sound technical knowledge and experience.
- Strong experience in accounts preparation, audits, corporate tax and/or advisory services across varying entity types.
- Excellent proficiency with accountancy software – Sage, IRIS, TAS Books preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills, with adherence to deadlines and compliance standards.
- Strong client relationship skills, delivering clear, practical advice in a personable manner.
- A proactive, supportive team-player mindset.
- Experience or interest in supervising or mentoring less-experienced colleagues.
