Butler Rose is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in Plymouth, seeking an experienced and driven Team Leader to join their production team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership position within a forward-thinking company committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
The Role:
As a 1st Line Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of personnel within your designated area. You will play a crucial role in ensuring company objectives are met in terms of safety, quality, and profitability. Your day-to-day activities will be aligned with the company's key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full staff management, including overseeing cell leaders and ensuring KPI adherence.
- Enforcing compliance with health and safety policies, including risk assessments, safety audits, PPE adherence, and incident reporting.
- Managing quality standards, ensuring set-up verification, conducting dimensional checks, and leading scrap reduction initiatives.
- Monitoring daily output against targets, implementing recovery plans as needed, and driving continuous improvements.
- Managing productivity levels in line with company KPIs and ensuring optimal workforce planning.
- Ensuring all personnel receive appropriate training before undertaking any tasks.
- Leading HR activities such as recruitment, appraisals, performance reviews, and disciplinary hearings.
- Reviewing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) schedules and taking corrective action when targets are not met.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives in line with the 5S methodology.
- Upholding compliance with shift patterns, breaks, and attendance requirements.
Experience:
The successful candidate will be trained to ILM Level 5 or IOSH Managing Safely, with further training opportunities available in Six Sigma, Core Tools, and leadership development.
