An established and growing accountancy firm is seeking an Assistant Tax Manager or Tax Manager to join its expanding private client tax team in Ely. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with experience across personal tax compliance and advisory work, particularly involving trusts and private clients, to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment. The role offers exposure to a varied portfolio including high-net-worth individuals, non-residents and trustees, alongside opportunities to contribute to advisory projects and client relationship management.

Role Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review Self Assessment tax returns, including capital gains computations and property income schedules.
  • Manage personal tax compliance deadlines and ensure timely submissions and payments.
  • Support and deliver advisory work relating to Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax and trusts.
  • Assist with trust compliance, trust registration matters and associated IHT considerations.
  • Carry out Statutory Residence Test reviews and non-resident tax return work.
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of private clients and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Liaise directly with clients, business owners and internal teams regarding tax matters.
