Butler Rose Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Full Stack Developer on behalf of a wholesaler in the Preston area. This position would be ideal for an experienced developer with strong Laravel (PHP) and React.js expertise who enjoys working across both legacy systems and modern technologies.

You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the companies existing website, APIs and backend systems whilst also contributing to the gradual modernisation of the platform, taking ownership of their business-critical customer ordering platform.

Working fully remotely (following a brief hybrid training period) your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and supporting the companies website and existing applications
  • Supporting, troubleshooting and enhancing 3-4 existing APIs
  • Contributing to frontend improvements using React.js
  • Diagnosing and resolving production issues to optimise system performance and reliability
  • Supporting the ongoing modernisation of the platform and development practices through identifying opportunities to upgrade across frameworks, dependencies and infrastructure

The ideal applicant will have experience with PHP and Laravel, React and legacy systems. This role would be perfect for someone who enjoys taking a pragmatic, hands-on approach to development, who is comfortable working on live production systems and is confident reading and working from documentation.

Offering a competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (depending upon experience) this is a full time, permanent, fully remote position (after training) with core hours of 9am - 5pm but flexibility for the right candidate. You must be available on a hybrid basis initially during your training period and able to commute to the Preston, Lancashire area for approximately 2 months.
