Temporary Accountant Job in Plymouth for 3 months.
An exciting educational organisation in Plymouth is seeking an experienced Temporary Accountant to join its finance team on an interim basis until the end of December 2026.
This is a varied and hands-on role that will provide vital support across the finance function, offering exposure to a wide range of accounting and finance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Supporting year-end processes and statutory reporting requirements
- Assisting with audit preparation and responding to audit queries
- Financial forecasting and budget monitoring
- Providing guidance and support to School Finance Officers
- Assisting with project-based finance initiatives
- Performing financial analysis and reporting as required
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc accounting duties
About You
- Qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience accountant
- Previous experience within an education, academy trust, school, charity or not-for-profit environment would be highly advantageous
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting skills
- Experience of year-end processes and audit preparation
- Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative finance team
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Good working knowledge of financial systems and Excel
