We’re working with a well‑established organisation who are looking to recruit a Payroll Assistant to join their growing team. The role
You’ll support the end‑to‑end processing of multiple payrolls for a varied client base, ensuring accuracy, compliance and excellent service at all times.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting with the processing of weekly and monthly payrolls for multiple clients
- Accurately inputting starters, leavers and payroll changes
- Calculating statutory payments including SSP, SMP, and holiday pay
- Dealing with payroll queries from clients in a timely and professional manner
- Supporting payroll submissions, RTI filings and year‑end processes
- Ensuring payroll is processed in line with current HMRC legislation
- Maintaining accurate payroll records and client data
What we’re looking for
- Previous payroll experience, ideally within a bureau or accountancy practice
- Good working knowledge of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
- Confident communicator with a good client‑service mindset
- Experience using Sage payroll software
